Encourage residents to
attend meetings to offer their suggestions on Safety and Security.
Safety: Identity
theft is the fastest growing problem in California.
Recommendations.
Shred all papers that have your name listed.
Security: For vehicles
equipped with electronic locking device, you may use your car entry alarm to
discourage a thief.
Emergency
preparedness:
When disaster strikes
some residences may be caught unprepared.
HOME:
Get a kit. Prepare a
comprehensive emergency kit for your home and a small kit for each family
vehicle.
In home injuries are
sometimes caused by slipping or stepping on broken glass. Needed medicine
and First aid kit is suggested. To prepare for electrical interruptions,
suggest a flashlight and a pair of shoes be placed near your bed. A battery
operated radio, is also a good idea.
Canned food and
bottled water to last for three days. Banks may be inoperative for a short
period of time. Consider having small dominations of money available to
purchase needed items.
Prepare for
sleepovers. Some residence may be stranded at work, or on the road. It
will be necessary to have emergency supplies available. Check your kit every
six months to refresh supplies and replace batteries. Suggested supplies for
your car. Bottled water, can food, and good walking shoes. Blanket, First
aid kit and battery operated lights. Additionally, it was suggested that in
the event that you are stranded at work or on the road, it would be a good
idea to have a bottle of wine (screw top) in the trunk of your. Only for
those who drink wine.
Police department:
Don’t hesitate to call 911 to report suspicious activities. Or (562)
435-6711, when calling from a cell phone. Suggest that you have (562)
435-6711 keyed into your cell phone.
911 calls are answered
by the State Police if you are calling while on the interstate highway or on
an on ramp.
Suggest that you have
an out of state telephone Number contact. Local cell phone and land line may
be inoperative.

primary method used to transmit future Neighborhood Watch correspondence.
Please E-mail me with
your e-mail address and phone numbers.
Visit with neighbors
to acquaint them with the neighborhood watch committee functions. Encourage
them to attend meetings and offer their suggestions on safety and security.
In the event it
becomes necessary to turn off all electricity in the unit. Suggest that
owners locate their unit electric
Circuit breaker.
Obtain name and unit
number of persons, who will need assistance in an emergency?
ACTION ITEMS:
Gene
Determine location and
tool necessary for Emergency Gas shut off. Get instruction necessary to
open garage doors, in the event of electric failures.
Discuss and recommend
Emergency assembly with HOA.
